FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the treatment of metals by pressure and can be used to manufacture a device for forming a groove on a pipe by rolling. Concave roller is brought into contact with the wall surface of the pipe. When the spindle is turned on, the concave roller is lowered towards the convex roller and forms a convex portion on the surface of the pipe wall in the form of a groove. In this case, the lowering of the concave roller and the height of the support roller are controlled to provide the required depth of the groove.
EFFECT: technological possibilities are widened due to the formation on the pipes of various diameters of the groove at any distance from the end of the pipe.
