FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of coating by thermal spraying and can be used to coat the inner surfaces of cylinder liners of an internal combustion engine. Method for producing a plasma sprayed arc of direct action using a wire (PTWA) on a component, wherein one component, in particular the cylinder face, is coated with an alloy, and transport gas (9) emerging from nozzle (3) is supplied to plasma stream (8) through supply channels (11) and auxiliary nozzles (10), melted material being the source of the additive is a solid wire made of the alloy which is fed into the plasma stream (8), wherein the sputtering is carried out without an additional powder, characterized in that nitrogen is used as the transport gas for transporting the plasma and the molten sprayed material.
