FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for applying coatings, in particular to a method for applying coatings to a cylinder running wall of a cast cylinder crankcase of an internal combustion engine. A cylinder inner wall of a cast cylinder crankcase of the internal combustion engine, the coating is formed by thermal spraying wherein an inert gas is used as the atomizer gas. Atomizer gas consumption is from 300 to 900 l/min, the mass throughput of the coating material is from 8 to 22.5 kg/h.
EFFECT: formed coating provides high corrosion resistance of the cylinder running surface of a cylinder crankcase of an internal combustion engine.
