FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for treating tobacco, which includes a first step, on which conditioning is carried out to increase the moisture content of the tobacco to a first level, and a separate second step, on which conditioning is carried out to increase the pH of the tobacco to at least pH 7, the tobacco being cut or ground after the first conditioning step, but before the second conditioning step.
EFFECT: technical result is providing the required amount of temperature sensitive molecules.
