FIELD: tobacco.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for processing tobacco material from a cut stem for the purpose of obtaining a cut stem product increased in volume, as well as to an apparatus for processing tobacco material from a cut stem. The invention also relates to a tobacco material from a cut stem increased in volume, a product of tobacco industry containing the material, and to an application of said material and extracts therefrom. Provided is a method for processing tobacco material from a cut stem, including a first stage of expanding, wherein the cut stem is expanded resulting in a first tobacco material increased in volume, the filling degree whereof, measured at a normalised moisture content of 14.5% of volatile substances released during drying (OV), is at least approximately 10% greater than the filling degree of unprocessed tobacco material from a cut stem; the second stage of expanding, wherein the first tobacco material increased in volume is expanded by periodic contact of the first tobacco material increased in volume with a heated surface, resulting in a second tobacco material increased in volume with a moisture content measured at a normalised moisture content of 14.5% OV from 0 to approximately 10% OV and a filling degree at least 5% greater than the filling degree of the first tobacco material increased in volume; and a third stage, wherein the moisture content of the second tobacco material increased in volume is brought to approximately 10 to 20% OV, resulting in a product increased in volume, the filling degree whereof, measured at a normalised moisture content of 14.5% OV, is at least 50% greater than the filling degree of unprocessed tobacco material from a cut stem. Also described is an apparatus for implementing the method, a tobacco material from a cut stem, increased in volume, and a product of tobacco industry, containing such material.
EFFECT: possibility of obtaining a product increased in volume when processing tobacco material from a cut stem.
