SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for drying thermolabile materials, for example, medicinal herbs. Method of drying comprises grinding thermolabile materials in a screw mixer at the temperature of 110–150 °C and the pressure of 3–5 MPa, herewith the temperature is created without any supply of heat from the outside directly during the processing of the thermolabile material in the internal cavity of the screw mixer body. Prior to supplying the thermolabile materials to the screw mixer they are grinded and subsequently mixed with a substance that envelops particles of the thermolabile materials in an amount sufficient to envelop the dried thermolabile materials, herewith the exit of the dried thermolabile materials from the screw is carried out through a magnetic field. Screw mixer for implementing the method comprises a body with a charge and a discharge openings, a drive for the screw housed in the body working chamber with the possibility of rotation with respect to the longitudinal axis, a mechanical assembly to create the temperature of 110–150 °C and the pressure of 3–5 MPa. Mechanical assembly consists of two flat rings arranged in a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the screw in such a way, that centers of the rings coincide with the longitudinal axis of the screw, herewith the first of the rings is fixedly secured in the body, the second one is on the screw, and the gap between the rings forms the discharge opening. Onto the ring located on the screw from the side of the inner cavity of the body there are magnets installed.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the protection from medicinal herbs oxidation.
