FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the field of processing of flat articles and can be used in processing of paper sheets. Device for processing paper sheets includes charge hole, detector unit, and control unit. Paper sheets are drawn through the feed opening in the transport direction. Sheets include at least one target sheet and separating card lap on the sheet. Surface of the separation card has a main section with a group of identification holes. Group of identification holes is formed by at least two through-holes arranged along the transport direction. Detector unit finds out drawing of paper sheets by the loading unit and finds out a group of identification holes. Control unit determines that the paper sheet is a separation card if the detector unit found out a group of identification holes. Control unit determines that the paper sheet is the target sheet if the detector unit has not found out any of the groups of identification holes.

EFFECT: it simplifies and optimizes the classification of target sheets through separation cards.
