FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition for the manufacture of primarily bicycle tyres. Composition is made of a porous polyurethane or polyurethane urea elastomeric material comprising at least: a polyisocyanate composition having content of free NCO groups in the range of 15–25 wt%, comprising an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer, which is the reaction product of excess organic polyisocyanate and a polyester polyol having average nominal hydroxyl functionality in the range of 2–6, number average molecular weight in the range of 2,000–6,000, and ethylene oxide content in the range of 20–35 wt%, wherein at least 50 % of the ethylene oxide groups are at the end of the polyester polyol chain, and a polyol composition comprising at least one one polymer polyether polyol, characterised by a molecular weight in the range of 2,000–7,000, and containing solid particles in an amount in the range of 15–35 wt% based on the total weight of the polyol; and chain extenders, catalysts and blowing agents.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance of tyres.
