SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cartridge for use in an aerosol generating system and an aerosol generating system comprising such a cartridge. Cartridge for use in the aerosol generating system comprises an elongated first compartment with length L1, width W1 and height H1, wherein the first compartment has a first air inlet and a first air outlet and comprises a nicotine source, and an elongated second compartment with length L2, width W2 and height H2, wherein the second compartment has a second air inlet and a second air outlet and comprises an acid source, wherein the first compartment and the second compartment are arranged in parallel in the cartridge, and wherein ratio L1:W1 and L2:W2 is from about 2:1 to about 4:1, and the ratio L1:H1 and L2:H2 is at least about 6:1.
EFFECT: technical results of the invention is an aerosol generating system comprising a nicotine source and an acid source for generating in situ an aerosol containing nicotine salt particles, which allows to evenly heat the nicotine source and acid source, which promotes release of nicotine vapor from the nicotine source and acid vapors from the acid source, which allows to achieve more stable generation of aerosol at different stages of using the aerosol generating system.
