The cartridge comprises a first compartment containing a first air inlet and a first air outlet, the first compartment containing a nicotine source containing a first carrier material impregnated with nicotine and a second compartment containing a second air inlet and a second air outlet, moreover, the second compartment contains an acid source containing a second carrier material impregnated with acid. One of the first and second compartments contains a pair of susceptor elements located in contact with the carrier material inside the compartment. The carrier material is located between a pair of susceptor elements. Provides a significant reduction in the time required to raise the temperature of the nicotine source inside the compartment to the desired temperature.

EFFECT: direct passage is provided for heat transfer between the nicotine source and the heater.
