FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of building materials and can be used in the production of heat-resistant structural insulation based on mineral fibers. Thermal insulating article on a mineral binder obtained from a mixture containing, as a binder, an aqueous slurry of a saponite-containing material, and as a fibrous aggregate – basalt fibers with the following ratio of the components of the mixture, mass%: saponite-containing material 15–25 %, basalt fibers 75–85 %. Moreover, this mixture undergoes thermal modification at a temperature of up to 1,200 °C.
EFFECT: increase in structural strength.
