FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the petrochemical industry and refers to the elimination of accidents occurring on tanks with a capacity of 5 to 260 thousand m3 with highly flammable liquids (HFL) and combustible liquids (CL), which result in a fire. Essence of the first version of the extinguishing system device is that it includes N≥2 controlled barrels of foam generators placed along the perimeter of the tank, foam generators barrels are located at an angle of minus 2–10 degrees to the combustible liquid horizontal surface, at the base of the fire flame, homogeneous water-air foam is used, with factor Kp equal to 30±10, range of the foam jet supply L greater than or equal to the tank radius R, foam delivery rate I equal to 0.1–0.15 l/m2⋅s, at that, a controlled foam jet is supplied in a horizontal plane with an angle of the barrel axis rotation of ±45 degrees and in a vertical plane with the angle of the of the barrel axis rotation for ±5–10 degrees. Second variant of the system differs from the first one in that the foam generators are located along the tank perimeter on the ground or on the small mobile platforms, homogeneous water-air foam is used, with similar factor Kp equal to 30±10, range of the foam jet supply L greater than or equal to the tank radius R, with foam delivery rate I equal to 0.15–0.5 l/m2⋅s, while a controlled from the ground foam jet is supplied through the tank side wall. Foam generator barrel inclination angle relative to the ground is 60–80 degrees.
EFFECT: creation of the fires extinguishing system on large tanks with HFL and CL by increasing the extinguishing process efficiency while simplifying the known technology and devices used for its implementation.
