FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire extinguishing and concerns elimination of accidents occurring on reservoirs with capacity of 5 thousand m3 and more with highly flammable liquids (HFL) and combustible liquids (CL), which result is fire of combustible liquids. Method of fire extinguishing on large tanks with flammable and combustible liquids by supply from foam generating shafts N≥2, arranged along perimeter of reservoir from above, on inner surface of tank of jets of fire extinguishing substance. According to invention, foam is supplied by jets to the surface of combustible liquid of reservoir by scanning in vertical and horizontal planes by software-controlled or oscillating foam-generating shafts in the sector allocated for each shaft in terms of foam coating of entire surface of combustible liquid.
EFFECT: as a result, efficiency of fire extinguishing process on large reservoirs with HFL and CL at simultaneous simplification of known technology and devices used for its implementation is increased.
