FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular to methods for producing hollow spherical metal powders consisting of nanocrystalline particles. Hollow nanostructured metal microspheres have specific mechanical, physical and chemical properties, other than the ones of powders with micron-sized particles, which makes it possible to use them as thermal insulation materials or shielding EMI, catalysts and in other fields of science and technology. Method for producing hollow nanostructured microspheres of transition metals (Ni, Cu, Co) means in the fact that a reaction solution containing metal nitrates and water-soluble organic compounds is sprayed with an ultrasonic or another type aerosol generator, and then, under controlled delivery of the carrier gas, the reaction solution in the form of an aerosol enters a tubular furnace, where, under the influence of temperature, an exothermic reaction is self-initiated in each drop of the aerosol, during which a metal powder consisting of hollow nanostructured microspheres trapped by the filter at the exit from the tube furnace is formed. Cobalt nitrate and/or nickel nitrate and/or copper nitrate are used as the metal nitrates. As the water-soluble organic compounds, glycine and/or hydrazine and/or urea are used.
EFFECT: invention allows the formation of crystalline nanomaterials in one stage as a continuous process; the final product consists of hollow metal nanostructured microspheres without an oxide impurity.
