FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: described are embodiments of a method for degrading biodegradable resin. One embodiment of the method for degrading biodegradable resin comprises degrading the biodegradable resin in a buffer solution containing a biodegradable resin-degrading enzyme having an optimum pH of 7.5 or higher. Buffer solution is a tris aminomethane solution, the pH of which is adjusted to a level of 9.5 or higher. Biodegradable resin-degrading enzyme is an alkaline protease. Another embodiment of the method for degrading biodegradable resin comprises degrading the resin in a buffer solution containing savinase and/or esterase. Optimum concentration of the enzyme, at which the maximum degrading biodegradable resin in the reaction solution is achieved, is determined. Degradation is conducted in the buffer solution which gives a biodegradable resin degradation ratio of 60 % or higher, where a biodegradable resin degradation ratio at said optimum concentration is referred to as 100 %. Buffer solution comprises a tris aminomethane or buffer solution of 2-(cyclohexylamino)ethanesulfonic acid. Biodegradable resin comprises a polylactic acid-based resin.
EFFECT: present invention relates to a method for efficiently degrading a biodegradable resin.
