FIELD: transport machinery.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to the field of railway transport, in particular to the brake shoes of the traction rolling stock. Brake shoe contains the steel frame with two ledges and the friction element. Main part of the friction element is made with the cast-iron insert, which is located in the main part in such a way that during the operation of the shoe, the insert contacts the rolling surface of the wheel and does not contact the ledge of the wheel. Frame ledges are located in the central part of the shoe. Insert is placed in the central part of the shoe in the gap area between the frame ledges. Polymeric composite friction material is placed in the gap between the frame ledges.
EFFECT: improved performance of the shoe, the increase in the possibility of deformation of the end parts of the shoe under the action of the pressing force with compensation of the difference in the curvature of the working surface of the shoe and the rolling surface of the wheel, as well as the increase in the service life of the wheel ledge are achieved.
