FIELD: tyres.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automotive industry and relates to the tread pattern of a passenger car tyre with an asymmetric pattern. Median plane divides said tread into two parts of the same axial width, specifically an outer part and an inner part. Inner part and outer part each comprise at least one hollow forming a slot or designed to form a slot from a partial wearing-off of the tread. In a new condition and for each part (inner and outer), said hollows define a total hollow volume, Vi0 and Ve0, respectively, a hollow surface rate, Ti0 and Te0, respectively, those rates being different from zero and such that in new condition, there is a ratio R0 between the hollow volume of the inner part and the hollow volume of the outer part and in each worn condition (U) chosen between the initial state and the wear limit of the tread, there is a ratio RU between the hollow volume of the inner part and the hollow volume of the outer part, said tyre being characterised in that, at least from 80% wear measured on the tread thickness to be worn off, the ratio RU is greater than the ratio R0.
EFFECT: technical result is the preservation of wet grip characteristics when the tread wears.
