FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measuring technology, in particular to electromagnetic devices for measuring flow of large diameter pipelines, and can be used in water meters and heat meters. Sensitive element is electrode assembly containing two point electrodes, mounted flush with fairing surface. Design of submersible local velocity sensor (SLVS) allows measuring local speed and flow rate of controlled electroconductive liquid in fully filled large diameter pipelines Dy > 300 mm. When SLVS works in composition of flowmeter or heat meter, depth of immersion of sensor inside pipeline can vary over wide range (Y/R = 0.08…0.36, where Y is distance from inner wall to local velocity measurement point, R is inner radius of pipeline). During experiments of determining metrological characteristics of SLVS, it was found that relative error of flow measurement does not exceed 2 % when average flow velocity of measured liquid varies from 0.4 to 3…5 m/s, which corresponds to requirements of "Techniques for implementation of commercial accounting of thermal energy, coolant." For realization of invention, well-known domestic materials in electrical industry were used, algorithms and software developed at TBN Energoservis LLC were applied.
EFFECT: determination of flow in electrically conductive liquid with high accuracy (relative error is not more than 1–2 % depending on the flow measurement range) in large diameter pipelines.
