SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medicine, in particular to a method for inhibiting osteoclastogenesis in mammals; method for inhibiting expression at the level of genes and proteins associated with upregulation of osteoclastogenesis in mammals; as well as the use of kalebin A in the therapeutic treatment of osteoporosis in mammals in which osteoporosis is the result of osteoclastogenesis or the result of cancer-induced differentiation of osteoclast precursor cells into osteoclasts.
EFFECT: therapeutic potential of kalebin A for the treatment of mammalian osteoporosis, which is caused by the transfer of the signal of ligand receptor-activating factor of the nuclear factor (NF)-κB (RANKL), as well as the differentiation of cancer-induced precursors of osteoclasts.
