FIELD: image forming devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the conversion of printed documents into electronic images for processing or storage in a computer system. Description of methods and devices for detecting the boundaries of documents in flatbed and multifunctional scanners at the first pass of the carriage assembly and the subsequent scanning with high resolution in the second pass is provided. Then images of high-resolution documents can be obtained without operations or with little or no operations, usually necessary to identify the necessary areas on the scanner's tablet. Textures on the scanner cover make it easier not only to identify the edges of the document, but also to determine the orientation of the text and other objects, as well as image processing in preparation for OCR and related functions. Electronic images and files obtained from paper documents can be automatically cropped, they can be tilted, they can be subjected to OCR, and they can be given names corresponding to their content or other information received from them.
EFFECT: technical result is to shorten the scanning time of the document.
