FIELD: biochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foams. Polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam composition is described, comprising: (a) a polyol composition consisting of (i) 30 to 60 weight percent of an aromatic polyester polyol, having a hydroxyl number greater than about 50 mg KOH/g and a number of functional groups greater than or equal to about 2; (ii) 10 to 30 weight percent novolac-type polyether polyol; and (iii) from 20 to about 40 weight percent of a sucrose- or sorbitol-initiated polyol, having a hydroxyl number of more than about 200 mg KOH/g and a number of functional groups of at least about 4; all percentages are taken relative to the polyol composition as a whole; (b) a polyisocyanate; and (c) a blowing agent; in such a way that the stoichiometric index of the polyisocyanate to the formulated polyol is from about 100 to about 250. Described is polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam obtained from the above composition.
EFFECT: technical result is the preparation of polyurethane or polyisocyanurate foam having improved curing and fire resistance characteristics.
