SUBSTANCE: implant for bracing a young patient with automatic extension comprises a body, an annular plug, at least one rod and a split ring. Body defines internally an axial housing which opens on one side by a mouthpiece and which has a narrowing section on the opposite side forming an abutment face on the body. Annular plug is fixed at the mouth of the axial housing of the body and has a stop face facing said abutment face. At least one rod passes through said annular plug and the axial housing of the body. Split ring is mounted on the rod and is accommodated in the axial housing of the body. Said rod and said body are adapted to be attached to two vertebrae, or to two bone parts, or to bone and to an articular prosthesis. Abutment and stop faces have bevelled shapes, one of which is internal and the other is external. Split ring has two supporting sides respectively facing the abutment and stop faces, and having a shape providing expansion of the split ring when it is supported on the side with an external bevelled shape and compression on the rod when supported on the side with an internal bevelled shape.

EFFECT: invention provides automatic extension and has a simple, reliable and compact design.
