FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of carbonate feedstock material thermal treatment and devices for its implementation and can be used in the metallurgical and chemical industries, in sugar and other industries. Carbonate feedstock material thermal treatment is carried out in a double-shaft counterflow furnace. At the same time, carbonate feedstock material is dried, heated, roasted by the heat of combustion products, finished product is cooled. Furnace contains two shafts with annular collectors connected by a bypass channel and valves for flushing exhaust gases, an air blower and an external combustion chamber and is designed for cyclical operation of the shafts with alternation in the heating mode and the holding mode of the carbonate feedstock material in a stationary gaseous medium and pulsed supply of combustion products to the mines. In this case, the remote combustion chamber is installed in the bypass channel, and the blower is configured to continuously supply air to the shafts for cooling the finished product and to the burner of said furnace. Each shaft is equipped with a gas-distributing core.

EFFECT: invention allows to reduce capital and operating costs, extends the fractional and mineral composition of feedstock materials.
