FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to roasting of carbonate rocks and can be used in metallurgical, construction, chemical, food and other industries where slaked lime is used. Proposed method comprises firing carbonate material in straight-flow counterflow furnace from two wells communicated via bypass channel. Carbonate material is loaded into upper part of shafts via tight gate loading-distribution system. Fuel and air from blowers for combustion to each mine are alternately supplied, thus forming mine for roasting and mine for spent gas. Suction of gas into gas cleaning system from upper part of mine for waste gas, supply of air from blowers for cooling burnt material to lower part of shafts during fuel supply, switching off fuel supply during switching of heating of mines, unloading of cooled burnt material from furnace via unloading valves. At that, during switching of heating of shafts, air from blowers for combustion and air from blowers for cooling of lime is supplied to lower part of mines, and discharge of cooled burnt material from each shaft of furnace is performed during fuel supply through tight gate-type unloading device from two valves and tight vibration chute between them, connected by flexible tight inserts.

EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of mine operation.
