FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to variable liquid-filled lenses, in particular to devices for them. Actuating member for a liquid-filled lens comprises a housing that has a first and a second ends; a reservoir located inside the housing. Inside the housing, there is a slidably slider disposed and positioned to abut the reservoir. In an exemplary embodiment, the actuating member also comprises a compression arm having a first end that is fixed and a second end that is not fixed, wherein the compressing arm is disposed adjacent to the reservoir. Sliding the slider from one end of the housing to the other end causes the slider to push the second end of the clamping lever, thereby compressing the reservoir. In an exemplary embodiment, the slider includes a first wedge shaped end configured to compress the reservoir. Sliding the slider from one end of the housing to the other end results in the first end of the slider compressing the reservoir.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of the use of the lens used.
