FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrical engineering and high-current electronics, it is a vacuum spark gap and can be used for switching high-current high-voltage electrical systems. Vacuum spark-gap switch includes a sealed dielectric shell containing a coaxial electrode system comprising a cathode and igniting electrode separated by a cylindrical dielectric washer and anode. Cathode and anode surfaces facing each other are provided with coaxial core protrusion separated by a gap, the cathode being provided with a coaxial cylindrical projection surrounding the core protrusion. Igniting electrode has a ring shape with an opening diameter equal to the inner diameter of the cylindrical cathode projection. Between the cylindrical cathode projection and the igniting electrode, a dielectric washer is fixed, distance between the end surfaces of the cathode and the anode core protrusions is less than the distance between the anode and the coaxial cylindrical projection of the cathode. Pressure inside the spark discharger shell is 10-2-100 Pa.
EFFECT: technical result is higher life and stability of a vacuum electric-discharge switching device functioning.
