SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely ophthalmosurgery. For prediction of postoperative visual acuity in endovitreal surgery of rheumatogenic retinal detachment, the length of the anterior-posterior axis of the eye, the visual acuity before the operation, determination of the prescription of retinal detachment and the duration of surgical manipulations in the vitreal cavity. Postoperative final maximum corrected visual acuity Y is calculated by the formula: Y=K+b1*X1+b2*X2+b3*X3+b4*X4, where K – constant = 2.4597; b1–b4 – regression coefficients: b1=-0.0147; b2=-0.0655; b3=0.7839; b4=-0.006; X1–X4 - values of the patient's parameters studied: X1 – prescription of retinal detachment in weeks; X2 – length of the anterior-posterior axis of the eye in mm; X3 – most corrected visual acuity before the operation; X4 – duration of manipulations in the vitreous cavity in min.

EFFECT: method allows to accurately and technically easy perform a prognosis of the most corrected visual acuity, which will be in the patient 6 months after the surgery for primary rheumatogenic retinal detachment, both with anterior and posterior localization of proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
