SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to software control systems. Method of controlling a plurality of household appliances using a portable control device is as follows. Portable control device wirelessly communicates with household appliances, receives data input carried out by the user, and, based on the data, transmits a control signal to the appliances, through which the appliances switch between the "at-home" and "not-at-home" mode. By means of a navigation receiver, control devices provide data on the current location of the control device, wherein if the control device is located outside a predetermined reference area and the specified home appliance is on, the control device will transmit a signal to the user, which indicates the switched on state of the device. Also claimed are a portable control device, in particular a mobile communication terminal, which is designed to implement a method for controlling a plurality of household appliances, and a system with a plurality of household appliances and a portable control device.
EFFECT: technical result consists in the possibility of switching household appliances between modes in accordance with the user's needs.
