FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method relates to the oil fields operation and can be used to estimate the production string metal actual corrosion rate in different intervals of the operating wellbore. Method provides for the device installation in any interval of the production string below the pumping equipment, where the corrosive effect exerted on the witness specimens corresponds to the corrosive effect conditions on the production string in the same interval. Corrosion-hazardous intervals determining device includes a container with attached corrosion witness specimens and further comprises a packer device with which a container with test specimens is mounted on the production string inner surface.
EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the casing string corrosion resistance information content, since the corrosion rate in the proposed study is determined by a direct method.
