FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to well operation of gas, gas condensate and oil fields and can be used to determine the actual rate of metal corrosion in different intervals of tubing without shutting down the well. The method for determining the actual corrosion rate of a metal in the intervals of maximum corrosion impact includes the preparation and weighing of corrosion witness samples, fastening the witness samples using a bolt of fastening to a metal rod of a cylindrical shape with recesses, screwing in a metal rod with a threaded fastener into an auto-detachment and lowering to a given depth into the tubing string. After a specified time, an auto-detachment is extracted with a metal rod attached to it with corrosion witness samples from tubing and the actual corrosion rate is determined from the corrosion witness samples by a gravimetric method. At the same time, the installation of corrosion witness samples is carried out without stopping the operation of the well.

EFFECT: determination of the corrosion rate by a direct method at various depths of tubing.
