SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a composition of ethers of methoxymethylphosphonic acid based on ethylene glycol and a process for its preparation, which can be used as a component to increase thermal stability and reduce the combustibility of special purpose composite materials used by aviation and helicopter industry enterprises for manufacturing heat-shielding coatings. Disclosed is a novel composition, which is effective for improving thermal stability of composite materials, which contains oxyethylated tris-ethylene glycol-tetra-methoxymethyl-phosphonic acid esters of the following composition, wt%: oxyethylated esters of tris-ethylene glycol-tetra-methoxymethyl-phosphonic acids – 50–60; acetone – 50–40; oxyethylated esters of tris-ethylene glycol-tetra-methoxymethyl-phosphonic acids – 50–60; ethanol – 50–40; oxyethylated esters of tris-ethylene glycol-tetra-methoxymethyl-phosphonic acids – 50–60; ethanol – 20–25; acetone 20–25.
EFFECT: disclosed is a novel and effective method for preparing said composition of methoxymethylphosphonic acid esters based on ethylene glycol by mixing oxyethylated esters of tris-ethylene glycol-tetra-methoxymethylphosphonic acid with a solvent, where acetone, ethanol or a mixture thereof is used as a solvent in a component ratio, wt%: acetone – 50; ethanol is 50, and the weight ratios of oxyethylated esters of tris-ethylene glycol-tetra-methoxymethyl-phosphonic acids and the solvent range from 1:1 to 3:2.
