FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in mechanical engineering and radio engineering. To achieve the technical result, long thin-walled parts with thickness of up to 10 mm made of 12X2NVFA (EI712) steel in the upper part thereof are vertically suspended from a device – a console for forming a melting charge. Melting charge is placed in a shaft-type furnace and heated to an austenitising temperature of 910–930 °C, upon achieving warm-up, the melting charge is moved from the furnace to a cooling cabinet, where in the upper part there is exhaust ventilation providing a controlled air flow which is laminar with respect to the component and is directed from the bottom up, with a flow rate of at least 0.45 m3/s, and at the bottom there are apertures for air intake.

EFFECT: technical result of the invention is a simpler and shorter tempering process and environmental friendliness.
