SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a compound of formula (I) or a salt thereof, or a hydrate thereof. Such a fungal disease is a fungal disease selected from the group consisting of Venturia inaequalis, Septoria tritici, Cercospora beticola, Cercospora arachidicola, Cercosporidium personatumI and Mycosphaerella fijiensis, mainly Septoria tritici. In the compound of formula (I)

is -C(=O)R⁴; R² is C₁-C₆alkyl; R³ is H; R⁴ is phenyl, which may be optionally substituted with 1 to 3 R⁵ groups; and R⁵ is independently halogen or C₁-C₆alkyl. Preferred salts of the compound are its hydrochloride, hydrobromide or hydroiodide. Invention also relates to a composition for controlling fungal diseases of plants using said compound, which can be made in a form suitable for application to the soil, plant, part of the plant, leaf and/or plant seed, and to a method of combating fungal infection or preventing fungal infection of plants. Fungicidally effective amount of at least one of said compounds is applied to at least one surface, selected from the part of the plant, the area near the plant, the soil in contact with the plant, the soil near the plant, any surface near the plant, any surface in contact with the plant, seeds and equipment used in the cultivation of plants.

EFFECT: compounds have fungicidal activity and can be used to control or prevent fungal diseases of plants.
