FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to non-destructive testing methods and can be used for flaw detection of welded joints of pipes and sheet products from ferromagnetic materials. Essence of the invention lies in the fact that the excitation of variable magnetic fluxes in the weld seam and the weld zone is produced in different areas of the welded seam using a four-pole electromagnetic converter - the integration of primary electromagnetic converters, measuring the values of six signals of the electromagnetic converter, proportional to the values of the magnetic fluxes, probing the weld in different zones in two sequentially created control modes, in the first mode, the main magnetic flux coupled to the current winding of the electromagnetic transducer is directed perpendicularly to the axis of the weld, and in the second mode the main magnetic flux, coupled to the current winding of the electromagnetic converter, is parallel to the axis of the welded seam.

EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the reliability of the control of welded joints of ferromagnetic products.
