FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method for evaluation of radon hazard at construction sections away consists in the fact, that control points located at 10 m distance from each other are selected at the bottom of foundation pit of building under construction. The control points are loosened, and the upper layer is removed from 3 cm to 5 cm in thickness, the surface is levelled thoroughly. At each point, an accumulation chamber with carbon adsorbers is installed for accumulation of radon for 1 hour, and density of radon flow is determined by beta-radiation of short-term daughter products of disintegration of radon 214pb and 214Bi. If average value of radon flow density exceeds 80 mbq⋅m-2⋅s-1, then the area is considered to be radon-hazardous, and if less than 80 mbq⋅m-2⋅s-1, then the area is radiation safe.
EFFECT: reduced statistical spread of measurement results which improves reliability of evaluation.
