FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measurement of nuclear radiations, namely, to detection of speed of advection of soil gases. The substance of the invention consists in the fact that on the surveyed section densities are measured in radon and thoron flows from soil surface, and specific activities of 226Ra and 232Th in the surface layer of soil, and then the speed of advection is determined from the following expression: where qTn and qRn - densities of thoron and radon flows, accordingly, Bk m-2 s-1; ARa and ATn - specific activities of radium-226 and thorium-232 in soil, Bk kg-1, De - efficient (volume) coefficient of diffusion of radon/thoron, m2 s-1; λTn and λRn - thoron and radon decay constants, accordingly, s-1.
EFFECT: expanded range of measurement of speed of soil gases advection.
