SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling a temperature distribution in heat exchanger (2; 10, 11) in which, by means of at least one optical waveguide (101, 102), in particular in the form of a glass fibre, arranged in said heat exchanger (2; 10, 11), an actual temperature distribution in heat exchanger (2; 10, 11) is measured, the light being coupled into said optical waveguide (101, 102) and light scattered in optical waveguide (101, 102) being evaluated in order to determine the actual temperature distribution, and at least one stream (S) of fluid medium (F) conducted in heat exchanger (2; 10, 11) is controlled in such a way that actual temperature distribution is brought closer to a predefined desired temperature distribution.

EFFECT: invention relates to device (1) for carrying out a method for controlling temperature distribution in heat exchanger (2; 10, 11).
