FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in radio engineering tests of fairings of radar stations of the radar. Method includes a measuring antenna, the source of the formation of a flat EMW. Series of measurements of the signal level E2 at the output of the antenna with the fairing installed. And during the whole series of measurements, the fairing is moved along the axis connecting the measuring antenna and the fairing in such a way that its plane remains parallel to the plane of the antenna aperture. Displacement of the fairing should not be less than half the wavelength in free space, which ensures a guaranteed phase change of the re-reflected signal by at least 2π for the whole series of measurements, and as a measuring and recording device a network analyzer is used with the possibility of processing the obtained values with the set mode of measuring the parameter S21.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the labor input of measurements and increasing the automation of calculations.
