FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in radio tests of radar stations fairings. Measurement of losses in cowls are a series of N signal level measurements E0j falling flat EMW in the wavelength range λ0±Δλ at output of measuring antenna without fairing and series of N measurements of signal Ei level at output of antenna with fairing (measuring antenna is replaced by antenna dome system) with subsequent mathematical processing of results. At that, phase variation is performed due to variation of incident EMW wavelength carrier.

EFFECT: technical result consists in measurement of losses of EMW in cowls with higher accuracy and higher reliability of measurement results, as well as without standard radar antenna devices and arrangement of standard mutual location and movement of antenna and fairing, aimed at reduction of labour intensity and higher automated calculations.
