SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and an apparatus for determining the stuck point of tubing in a wellbore. Method includes introducing a string of tubing into a wellbore, the string of tubing including a main string of tubing and an auxiliary string of tubing adapted to be connected to the main string of tubing. Auxiliary string of tubing comprises at least one sensor for measuring deformation and at least one device operatively connected to at least one sensor. Moving the main string of tubing inside the wellbore together with the auxiliary string of tubing. Release of the auxiliary string of tubing from the main string of tubing, when the main string of tubing is stuck in the wellbore. Moving the auxiliary string of tubing relative to the main string of tubing to at least a partial position within the main string of tubing. Engaging the axially spaced first and second anchors of the auxiliary string of tubing with the inner side of the main string of tubing, wherein at least one sensor is arranged in an axial direction between the first and second anchors. Transferring the load to the auxiliary string of tubing in an upward direction along the wellbore and thus creating deformation in the auxiliary string of tubing, measured by at least one sensor. Determination of the stuck position of the main string of tubing in the wellbore based on the deformation measured by at least one sensor.

EFFECT: technical result consists in effective determination of the stuck point.
