SUBSTANCE: group of inventions, the device and the method, relates to the generation of fluid pressure pulses in a well using instruments in this well. It forms a tubular housing defining an internal fluid flow passage and providing a housing wall having an internal surface and an external surface. Device for selectively generating fluid pressure pulses is mounted in an aperture defined in the wall of the housing. Device is capable of moving between a retracted position in which the device is located inside the aperture and a radially extended position, in which the device extends at least partially beyond the external surface. Extension of the device for generating pressure pulses is provided with the possibility of completely opening the aperture through the tubular body. This provides the possibility of subsequent placement of downhole equipment in the well below the device and maximizing the fluid flow through it.

EFFECT: technical result is the expansion of the functional capabilities of the instruments used in the borehole dimensions and increasing the efficiency of their operation; device comprises a tubular body.
