FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of galvanotechnics, namely: the preparation of the active mass of an electrode with nanoscale particles SnO2 on a carbon support, used in chemical sources of current, in supercapacitors, and also as a carrier for the catalysts of the reactions taking place in the fuel cells. Method includes electrodeposition of a metal in an electrochemical cell onto a carbon dispersed in an aqueous solution of a metal salt and a background electrolyte in the form of particles, under the action of a constant electric current with the agitation of the carbon suspension by means of a magnetic stirrer, the anode is made of tin, and the electrodeposition is carried out in an electrochemical cell with a combined cathode and anode space, filled with an electrolyte containing a carbon suspension based on an aqueous solution of a tin salt, which during the electrolysis process provides reduction of tin ions on carbon, and a background electrolyte in a concentration selected from the electroconductivity condition of the electrolyte solution of at least 0.35 Ω-1⋅cm-1, with a current density of 1–10 A/cm2.
EFFECT: obtaining particles of tin oxide attached to carbon, whose average diameter is 1–15 nm, with a uniform distribution of particles over the surface of the carrier with the ability to control the particle diameter and reduce the consumption of sulfuric acid.
