FIELD: image processing means.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to optical character recognition technologies in an image containing text symbols. Method for improving recognition is proposed. Method comprises the step of obtaining the document by the device for processing the original image. Further, according to the method, the location of the first sequence of symbols in the original image is identified, applying the first set of conversion operations to a first portion of the original image including the location of the first symbol sequence to create the first converted portion of the original image. Next, the optical character recognition (OCR) of the first converted portion of the original image is performed to obtain the first recognized first symbol sequence.
EFFECT: improving the quality of optical character recognition (OCR) by creating a set of images and applying different sets of conversion operations to the image of the document.
