FIELD: optics; data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of optical character recognition, namely to methods for recognizing symbols on images from a video stream. Method includes obtaining one or more first images from a first camera comprising a first view of a physical object from a first spatial position, the physical object comprising a plurality of symbols, obtaining one or more second images from the second camera containing a second kind of physical object from the second spatial position, wherein the first spatial position is different from the second spatial position, performing optical character recognition of the first images to identify one or more first symbols of the symbols depicted in the physical object, performing optical character recognition of the second images to identify one or more second symbols of the symbols, shown on the physical object, combining the first symbols with the second symbols by matching the first symbols to the second symbols and storing the combined symbols.
EFFECT: technical result is improved quality of document images recognition by combining several frames.
