FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to digital video processing technologies. Encoding method implemented by a video encoding computing device or an image encoding computing device is proposed. Method comprises the step of determining the values of the block vector, BV, for the current block in the picture, where the BV value for the current block indicates an offset relative to the reference area in the picture. Further, according to the method, the difference BV for the current block is determined using the BV value for the current block and the BV predictor for the current block. And also, the current block is encoded using an intra-copy-based ("BC") prediction with the BV value mentioned.
EFFECT: technical result is to improve the efficiency of video encoding.
