FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for regenerating silica gel. Regenerations are subjected to silica gel, which was used in the purification process of diesel fuel saturated with oxidized sulfur compounds in the form of sulfones and sulfoxides up to 20 mg/kg. According to the method, the silica gel in the adsorber is washed with water at a temperature of 20–50 °C, after which the dried silica gel is dried, pumped into the adsorber with nitrogen at a temperature of 180–195 °C. Then, nitrogen is withdrawn containing water vapor and traces of residual hydrocarbons from the adsorber to the condenser with cooling it to 40–60 °C. Cooled nitrogen is withdrawn to a separator to separate the liquid phase and further recirculate it to the adsorber, reducing the temperature of the washed and dried silica gel to 30–40 °C.

EFFECT: invention provides an improvement in the safety of the regeneration process.
