FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery. Drainage tube is placed in the pleural cavity into which a medicament is introduced using a syringe to suppress the secretion of pancreatic enzymes. In this case, a solution of octreotide in the amount of 200–400 mg diluted in a 0.9 % solution of sodium chloride in a volume of 40–50 ml is used as a medicine. After that the drainage is closed for 2 hours, at which time the patient repeatedly changes the position of the body. Then the drainage is opened and active aspiration is performed, the drainage from the pleural cavity is removed, when the volume of exudation is reduced to 100 ml per day.
EFFECT: method allows to shorten the time and increase the effectiveness of treatment, to avoid infectious pleural complications.
