SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for manufacturing an outer covering edge of a molded glass lid. According to the proposed method, a vegetable fiber is used as the material for the lid semifinished product, and for the production of this semi-finished product, molding is used by a pulp molding process and a thermoforming process under pressure. After this, additional processing is carried out, to form an annular outer covering edge protruding from the inner volume of the lid to the outside and formed around the perimeter of the semi-finished product.
EFFECT: method for manufacturing an outer closure edge of a molded cup cover is provided.
