SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural engineering and can be used for harvesting grain crops by combing plants on the vine. Combine harvester includes an inclined chamber and a threshing device, and a device for preliminary separation of free grain is mounted between them. At that the device comprises a separating grating and a receiving beater, made in the form of a screw. Halves of the multi-start spiral of the screw have a multidirectional winding from the side of the inclined chamber the right side of the spiral has a right lean, and the turns of the left side of the spiral are inclined to the left, while the angle of inclination of the turns to vertical plane exceeds 45°.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to minimize the flow of free grain to the threshing chamber of a combine harvester, and also reduces the crushing of the grain by the working parts of the thresher.
