FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, namely to methods of hydrometallurgical processing of solid-phase polymetallic mineral materials in order to precipitate copper and zinc from them. Ground polymetallic mineral material is treated with a chemical reagent solution and zinc and copper are precipitated from the solution. As a chemical reagent, alkali metal hypochlorite is used with a concentration of at least 6 g/l for elemental chlorine in solution, containing an alkali metal hydroxide in an amount providing a medium pH of at least 8, with a solid/liquid ratio of 1:(3–8) for at least 5 minutes with constant stirring at a speed of not less than 120 r/pm at a temperature of 30 to 50 °C. mixture obtained after the contact is again separated into a solid and a liquid phase for subsequent precipitation or sorption concentration of copper and zinc.
EFFECT: technical result is the extraction of zinc and copper in solution at industrial concentrations at a minimum yield of lead, iron and arsenic.
